Masonic Volunteer Day at Mount Moriah Cemetery on Saturday June 6th (rain date June 7th) starting at 9:00am. The gate entrance is at 62nd and Kingsessing in Philadelphia. We will be at St Johns circle which is the highest point and marked by a tall Masonic Monument. There will be guidance for parking and directions to walk to the site. Please carpool as much as possible.

This is an abandoned Cemetery that a group of volunteers have been trying to maintain for a number of years. Many of our Brothers and Sisters have been laid to rest here and their markers have been completely overgrown with jungle like growth. Now is our time to let them know, they’re not forgotten.

Donations can be made at anytime during the year as this will be a continuing effort. Lodges can make donations out to Jenkintown School of Instruction and send to the School.

Please have one person from each Lodge be the contact so we know how many are able to help us and what equipment they can bring. Please then report that information back to me by end of May.

We are in need of at least one preferably two, Chipper and trucks. If anyone knows of someone that can donate the use of one, with those that can run it, please let me know immediately. There will be a place to dump the chips on premise but need truck to transport from site. We are able to help with fuel costs. A Bobcat would also be helpful.

Please be prepared to work in thick wooded area with poison ivy, ticks, stickers and heat. Light long sleeve and pants, boots, gloves and Off bug propellant are highly recommended. Bring your own lunch, snacks and drinks. A cooler of water will be on site but please be prepared to take care of yourself.

Bring whatever you can for clearing out woods. Any gas, Chain saws, hedge trimmers etc. Shovels, picks, hand saws, pry bars and cutters. Anything you can use to clear woods. Lawnmowers, weedwackers and plastic lawn trash bags.
